Freecycle

During the week we freecycled a couple of things for the first time. It was a brilliant thing to do, it felt really good to see things that had served us well go on to provide enjoyment for others. The first item to go was a big TP Activity Swing and climbing set, about 12 foot overall in length. I'd decided before hand that I would offer the items on a first come first served basis so the swing set went to a man with a son and he was absolutely thrilled with it, astonished I think is probably a better description. But, the 4th email I received was from a lady with 5 kids and I did feel rather sad that it didn't go to her. I guess though that unless you want o receive emails over an agreed particular time, then decide who you feel is most 'worthy', there's no other way to do it. The two garden benches went to a lovely couple who've recently moved to a house from a flat, a couple of hours after they'd collected them I had a lovely email thanking me. For anyone that's interested you can see the freecycle network here The whole aim of freecycle is to reduced the amount of 'usable' stuff that ends up in landfill by recycling it instead - really makes sense.

It's very busy at home at the moment as we are due to move house in 1 weeks time. Looks like I will be without broadband too for a couple of weeks too which really annoys me but I can't do anything about it. So, I think posts are going to be few and far between for a while :-)

I've attached a little photo of the ivy in the garden, I've called it Boston Ivy but do you know I am not sure now, I think it might be Viginia Creeper - Answers on a postcard please.........
